JOB TITLE:  MRI Manager

Essential Management Functions:

Directly supervise employees of the MRI department. Ensure that all MRI department personnel have the proper licensure and credentialing for the services they will perform.

Oversee the Daily operations of the MRI department including monitoring workload and vacation/leave schedules to ensure appropriate distribution of work among staff. Approves and disapproves vacation requests and fills in as needed in situations to ensure that the mission of the department is accomplished.

Responsible for implementing training guidelines for new hires; oversees training of existing staff as new imaging techniques are implemented.

Works with the radiologists to develop imaging techniques and implements protocols as part of the daily imaging routine and ensures the staff is following the protocols set forth.

Provides department staff with education and training programs to maintain and improve competency.

Maintains appropriate records, reports, statistics, etc.

Reasonably knowledgeable of hospital policies, procedures and protocols as they pertain to the MRI department and able to reference the necessary hospital guidelines when needed to ensure compliance.

Responsible for performance of appraisals, disciplining and addressing complaints and resolving problems with staff.

Communicates department issues and concerns to Radiologist and Practice Manager.

Works with hospital staff to implement scheduling procedures.

Develop policies which outline safety procedures for the department; acts as the department safety officer.

Responsible for maintaining ACR accreditation

Works with Practice Manager to develop and maintain job descriptions and position requirements/qualifications and performance expectations for all staff.

Oversees daily Quality Assurance to maintain equipment performance, coordinates maintenance and repairs on all equipment in the department.

Responsible for ordering all related medical supplies.

Communicates with the department chair and practice manager to ensure the department is operating to expectations; implements change when deemed necessary.

Perform other related duties as assigned.
